A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
I’m Jessica, but most people call me Jess and my two girls call me mama. I am at my core an artist and lifelong student. I’m married to my best friend and partner, Roark. We’ve been together since 2012 and met through a journalism class where I was a designer and photographer and he was a photographer as well. The majority of our first few years dating were spent doing photoshoots together, from astro photography, portraits of our friends, and weddings. Since then, we haven’t stopped exploring and documenting the big and small moments in peoples lives. Roark is my second shooter and specializes in film photography.
I've always had this innate drive to express and uncover the spirit of people through different mediums. Ever since I was a little girl, my dad taught me to really observe, notice, and refine the creative process. It's like this natural flow that I find myself in. And with years of working as a graphic designer, I've naturally been drawn to the visual elements and compositions that perfectly fit on a magazine spread or website.
I dedicated a large portion of my life to classical ballet training, and this cultivated an undeniable need within me to capture the very essence and textures of the human form through the graceful art of movement. The culmination of my experiences and passions led me to graduate with a degree in Art History, a field that has significantly influenced the colors and textures that I now infuse into my photography.

MY APPROACH
With my Art History & Design background, various art styles have had a huge impact on my creative journey. The classical, Renaissance, baroque, and even minimal and modern art styles all possess a unique beauty and serve as a constant source of inspiration for me. They hold a special place in my heart, resonating deeply with my feminine energy and nurturing my creative soul.
Through my work, I aim to create an experience that is not only visually captivating but also evokes a sense of warmth and intimacy. I strive to make my subjects feel comfortable, confident, and at ease in their own skin, allowing their true essence to shine through. My photographic style can be described as editorial, capturing candid and intimate moments that transform the ordinary into art. I believe that every photograph should transport the viewer back in time, evoking a softness, energy, and deep appreciation for the moment captured. Whether it's documenting your wedding day with your partner, frolicking through a field, or holding each other tight, my aim is to bring you fully into the present, allowing you to take in every moment and find intention in your experiences.
The flowing shapes, the act of creating, connecting with others, and nurturing are all core elements that guide my artistic process. Being a mom has brought so much purpose to my photography. My girls inspire me to approach my work with curiosity and playfulness, forever seeking to unravel the depths of human connection and the intricate workings of the world around us.
